Urban Permaculture Class: Growing Healthful Food in the City
Minnesota Ag Connection - 10/25/2016

Join in Nov. 12 from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at an introduction to urban permaculture class. This class is being taught by Matt Frank, From the Ground Up North's founder and Mississippi Market Co-op communications specialist.

Learn how to grow abundant amounts of healthful food in urban areas and cold climates utilizing permaculture, an ethical design approach rooted in observation of ecological processes that acts as a framework for creating regenerative systems for human material and non-material needs. You'll leave the class with the necessary knowledge to begin implementing permaculture design in your own spaces, yards, and community gardens.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Environmental Design from the University of Minnesota, and is a Certified Permaculture Designer and a Certified Urban Farmer. He also currently serves as an active working board member for local Minneapolis nonprofit Permaculture Research Institute Cold Climate. In past roles he has worked as a permaculture and urban agriculture researcher, designer, and landscaper.

Registration is required. Please register by Nov. 4 to ensure your seat. This class is being hosted by Mississippi Market Natural Foods Co-op and will take place at their West 7th Street store in St. Paul. Co-op members will receive a class registration discount. Register by writing info@msmarket.coop or call 651-690-0507.
