Special Meeting to Review Farmed Cervidae Rules Postponed
Minnesota Ag Connection - 07/28/2021

The special meeting of the Minnesota Board of Animal Health scheduled for July 28 to review farmed Cervidae rulemaking has been postponed. New statutory language from the 2021 special session grants concurrent authority of farmed white-tailed deer to the Board of Animal Health and Department of Natural Resources.

Crafting the bounds of that shared regulatory oversight is a top priority for both agencies and needs to be fully addressed before resuming the rulemaking process.

The mission of the Minnesota Board of Animal Health is to protect the health of the state's domestic animals through education and cooperation with veterinarians, producers, owners and communities.
