FFA Members and Chapters Win Career Development Contests

The Minnesota FFA announced winners of its Career Development Events (CDEs) held last week in a virtual format.

The announcements followed the organization's 92nd Convention with the theme Worth It, held virtually April 19-23. Teams who win their state CDEs advance to the National FFA Convention, tentatively scheduled for October 27-30 in Indianapolis.

Individual and team results of the CDEs announced today are as follows:

Agricultural Mechanics -- Austin Weber, Albany, individual, and Willmar FFA, team;

Crops -- Kade Wassman, Mountain Lake, individual, and Mountain Lake FFA, team;

Dairy Evaluation -- Sophia Portner, Sleepy Eye, individual, and ROCORI FFA, team;

Dairy Handler -- Afton Nelson, Glencoe-Silver Lake, individual;

Farm Business Management -- Annabelle Wertish, Renville County West, individual, and Renville County West FFA, team;

Fish and Wildlife Management -- Emma Braford, Grand Rapids, individual, and Grand Rapids FFA, team;

Floriculture -- Haley Lupkes, Princeton, individual, and Princeton FFA, team;

Forestry -- Andrew Linder, Grand Rapids, individual, and Grand Rapids FFA, team;

Horse Evaluation -- Sage Rickert, Alden-Conger, individual, and Wadena-Deer Creek FFA, team;

Livestock Evaluation -- Ryan Hegland, Randolph, individual, and Alden-Conger FFA, team;

Meats Evaluation and Technology -- Tyenna Muller, Pipestone Area, individual, and Pipestone Area FFA, team;

Milk Quality and Products -- Ava Johnson, Maple River, individual, and New London-Spicer FFA, team;

Nursery and Landscape -- Kristen Hubbard, United South Central, individual, and Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted FFA, team;

Poultry Evaluation -- Alex Oatway, Medford, individual, and Medford FFA, team;

Small Animal -- Mikayla Opatz, Springfield, individual, and New London-Spicer FFA, team;

Results of the CDE and Leadership Development Events (LDEs) become final May 11. A complete list, including the CDEs and LDEs completed April 19-23, is available on the Minnesota FFA website.
