Online Presentation on Good Food Access Program

Are you a for-profit or not-for-profit small food retailer or grocer? Are you interested in learning more about funding opportunities for retail display cooler and freezers, shelving, mobile food trucks, and more? The Good Food Access Program may be a fit for you.

The University of Minnesota Extension Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships (www.rsdp.umn.edu) will be hosting an online presentation by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture about this opportunity and how to apply on March 28 at 2 p.m. Register for the presentation at http://z.umn.edu/gfap. The Minnesota Department of Agriculture's (MDA) Good Food Access Program (GFAP) is now requesting grant proposals for equipment and physical improvements. For-profit and not-for-profit grocery stores and small food retailers can apply for equipment to help stimulate sales of affordable, nutritious, and culturally appropriate foods in underserved and low- and moderate-income communities. Purchases may include equipment like retail display coolers and freezers, storage coolers and freezers, shelving, mobile food trucks, permanent infrastructure at farmers' markets installation costs, and more. $150,000 is available through the GFAP Equipment and Physical Improvement Grant. Proposals are due on April 19 at 4 p.m. CST.
