Elevating voices - women in Ag day at Minnesota capitol
Minnesota Ag Connection - 03/15/2024

On March 25, Minnesota's agriculture sector shines a spotlight on women's invaluable contributions through the Women in Ag Day at the State Capitol.

This event, orchestrated by key agricultural organizations, underscores the importance of women in farming and ag-related fields, aiming to inspire and encourage more women to pursue their agricultural ambitions.

Organized by the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Minnesota Office of Farm Service Agency, and University of Minnesota Extension, with support from the Minnesota Farmers Union, Minnesota Farm Bureau, and Minnesota Corn Growers, the day is packed with meaningful activities.

Attendees will have the unique opportunity to observe the Senate floor in session and participate in the Senate Ag Committee meeting, fostering a deeper understanding of legislative processes relevant to agriculture.

Highlighting the event is a networking reception, designed to facilitate connections among women in agriculture and with industry leaders, promoting collaboration and support within the community.

This reception is a testament to the collaborative spirit driving the event, bringing together various stakeholders in Minnesota's agriculture to celebrate and advocate for women's roles in this vital sector.

Participants are encouraged to make the most of this occasion by arranging meetings with their legislators, an opportunity to directly share their stories, achievements, and the challenges they face in agriculture.

This initiative is not limited by gender identity or expression, welcoming all who support the advancement of women in agriculture.
