NPPGA Winter Meetings Start Next Week

The Northern Plains Potato Growers Association (NPPGA) Research Reporting Conference and Chairman's and Meritorious Service Award Banquet will be held Feb. 20 at the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, N.D. Come and learn about the research and Extension activities going on for the potato growers.

At its banquet on Tuesday evening, NPPGA will be honoring this year's Meritorious Service Award winner Willem Schrage.

Willem is truely internationally known in the potato world. He was born in the Netherlands and was employed in the potato industry in Peru, Turkey, Tunisia and Canada before becoming to the U.S. to head the Minnesota Potato Inspection Program in East Grand Forks from 1994 to 2007. In 2007 he became the Potato Program Director for the North Dakota State Seed Department until his retirement in 2016.

NPPGA is proud to honor Willem for his many years of service to the potato industry, not just here, but around the globe.

The Research Reporting Conference and NPPGA Awards banquet aren't the only two things happening Tuesday. Here is a list of some of the events scheduled for the day:
