New faces and familiar ones at agricultural research board

The Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI) is excited to welcome two new individuals to its board of directors, alongside the re-election of a seasoned member, signifying a blend of fresh insights and experienced governance.
Mikayla Tabert and Ted Winter have been elected to the board, with Carolyn Olson earning another three-year term, exemplifying a robust commitment to agricultural research and innovation.
Mikayla Tabert steps into a research and promotion council seat, bringing with her much knowledge from her co-ownership of Trinity Creek Ranch, Inc., a pioneering entity in regenerative farming in Red Lake County, Minnesota.
Tabert is actively involved in several agricultural organizations and holds dual bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree in relevant agricultural sciences.
Ted Winter joins the board with a rich background in farming and agricultural advocacy in Nobles County, Minnesota. His leadership roles within the Minnesota Farmers Union and his legislative experience as a past member of the Minnesota House of Representatives contribute a valuable perspective to the board.
Re-elected member Carolyn Olson brings her expertise as an organic farmer and significant involvement in various agricultural committees and organizations, including the Minnesota Farm Bureau and the American Farm Bureau Organic and Direct Marketing Issue Advisory Committee.
Olson's comprehensive experience in both crop and livestock farming, along with her dedication to organic practices, reinforces the board’s diversity in agricultural disciplines.
The election of these members to the AURI board of directors underscores the institute's dedication to supporting Minnesota’s agricultural community through research, innovation, and promotion.
