Minnesota Ag Connection - 02/11/2019

U.S. Sen. Tina Smith (D-Minn.) said that as a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, she continues to serve as a top leader on the Rural Development and Energy Subcommittee. Sen. Smith also announced that she has been named to the Commodities, Risk Management and Trade; and Livestock, Marketing and Ag Security Subcommittees.

"Farm policy needs to work for Minnesota, and that's what I kept in mind as I met with farmers, ranchers, foresters, rural community leaders, and experts across the state in order to help get the bipartisan Farm Bill signed into law," said Sen. Smith. "I'm so glad I'll be able to keep fighting for Minnesota as a member of the Senate Agriculture Committee, and these subcommittees will allow me to zero-in on important issues and keep working for Americans who are critical to our economy and way of life."

In addition to the Senate Agriculture Committee, Sen. Smith continues serving on the Senate HELP (Health, Education, Labor, Pensions) and Indian Affairs Committees. She took on a new assignment this Congress on the Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee.
